Use this page to configure the IP settings for the separate management interfaces.
WARNING
WARNING
Do NOT configure the data interface and the separate management interface to be in the same network segment. If they are in the same network segment, firewall may block HTTP(S) and FTP traffic.
Enable Management Interface—Select to activate the separate management interface. Once activated, you can access the IWSVA Web console or CLI through the separate management interface. Specify the interface settings below.
Note
Note
Before you enable the separate management interface, make sure you have properly installed and configured a new network interface on the machine. For information on how to configure a network interface, please refer to the operating system specific documentation.
  • Ethernet Interface—Select an interface name.
  • Static IP address—Enter the IP address settings information for the interface.
  • Netmask—Enter the network mask for the interface.
  • Enable PING—Select this option to respond to PING requests on the management interface. Disable this option if you do not want anyone to PING this interface. Activate PING on an interface allows you to issue PING commands to check the network status of the IWSVA appliance on the management network. For example, if there is no reply from IWSVA after a PING request, the appliance may be down or there is a problem with network connection.
Tip
Tip
If the IWSVA machine is behind a router/switch in the management network, configure a static route on the management interface to access IWSVA through the Web console or SSH.
