Traditionally, administrators access a network device for management through the data
(proxy/bridge) interface. Thus normal user traffic and network management traffic
are intermixed on the data interface. This results in security vulnerabilities and
allows potential attackers to gain control of the network.
IWSVA supports a dedicated (also known as out-of-band) management interface that does
not carry user data.

Note
Management Interface requires the use of a freely available network interface. Before
you enable the separate Management Interface, make sure you have properly installed
and configured a new network interface on the machine.
