IWSVA does not come pre-installed with a Microsoft root certificate, and as a result, IWSVA may block Microsoft content from being downloaded. You can prevent this by importing the Microsoft (or any other trusted) certificate.
Importing a certificate is a two step process: (1) Use Internet Explorer to export the certificate to a known location. (2) Add the certificate to the list of trusted certificates using the IWSVA console.
From a Windows client that is able to access the IWSVA server console, open the Internet Explorer Web browser main menu and click Tools > Internet Options, and then the Content tab.
Click Certificates. The Certificates screen appears.
Click the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab and then scroll down the list of certifications available on the machine. Choose the certificate you want to export, in this case the Microsoft Root Certificate Authority.
Click Export.
In the Certificate Export Wizard, click Next and then select DER encoded binary X.509 (.CER) for the export format.
Click Next and then Browse to locate certificate on the local hard drive, or on a network drive the Windows machine can access.
Click to export the certificate, and then Finish to conclude the export.
2. Add the trusted certificate to IWSVA:
From the main IWSVA menu, click HTTP > Configuration > Digital Certificates.
In the Active Certificates tab, click Add.
Click Browse to locate the certificate you want to import (.cer, .der. .crt) and click Add. The imported certificate is automatically added to the Active Certificates list.
