Procedure
Create a user account in Active Directory server.
On to the computer where you want to install Exchange Connector, navigate to Start → Administrator Tools → Computer Management and do the following.
Expand the Local Users and Groups folder from
the left tree, and then double-click
Groups.
Right-click Administrators and click
Properties.
Click Add button on the
General tab, and do the following:
Type the user name that you created in step 1
of this procedure in the Login
name field and click
Search.
Select Users, Computers, Services, Accounts, or
Group dialog box appears.
Type the user name with the domain name (for example:
domainname\username) in the Enter the object
name to select field and click
Check Names.
Click OK.
Click OK on the Administrator
Properties dialog box.
On to the Active Directory server, do the following:
Navigate to Start → Administrative Tools → Active Directory Users and Computers.
Expand the Users folder from the left tree.
Right-click the account (user name) you created in step 1 of this
procedure and click Add to a group.
Do one of the following:
For Exchange Server 2007, type Exchange
Organization Administrators in the
Enter the object name to
select field and click Check
Names.
For Exchange Server 2010 and 2013, type
Organization Management in
the Enter the object name to
select field and click Check
Names.
Click OK and then click
OK on the confirmation screen.
On to the Active Directory server, do the following:
Navigate to Start → Administrative Tools → Active Directory Users and Computers.
From the menu bar, click View → Advanced Features.
Expand the Users folder from the left tree.
Right-click the account (user name) you created in step 1 of this
procedure and click Properties.
On the Security tab, click
Add.
Type the user name you created in step 1 with the domain name (for
example: domainname\username) in the Enter the object name to
select field, click Check Names,
and then click OK.
Select the user name in Group or user name list,
and click Advanced.
Select Include inheritable permissions from this object’s
parent and click OK.
