There are two potential issues when using IWSVA to scan Web traffic that includes
streaming media.
-
Extended Delay—In order to scan the file, IWSVA must first download the entire file from the host.
During this time, the user could perceive an extended delay.
-
Unrecognizable Media File—After scanning, IWSVA delivers the file as a whole to the requesting client. The
streaming application might not be able to recognize it. Users are prompted to save
the file. The content will not play.
If you are experiencing an issue with streaming media, you can designate that this
type of content be exempt from scanning. For more information, see
MIME content-type to skip.
