Notifications > HTTP/HTTPS Blocked File Type
Depending on what files IWSVA has been configured to block (if any), this notification
can be one of the most frequently encountered. End-users will see it whenever they
try to download a file type that IWSVA has been configured to block in HTTP > Advanced Threat Protection > Policies | Virus Scan Rule of an existing or new policy.

Note
When IWSVA blocks an undesirable file within a compressed file, an Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Event page appears displaying the URL of the item that violates the policy or rule, action,
and the rule. Potentially harmful files (such as executable files) within compressed
files are blocked using the true file type scanning. Notifications show such handling of these possibly malicious files as "blocked"
without specifying the use of true file type scanning.

Administrator Notification
-
Send a message when the blocked file type is accessed—As indicated previously, depending on what IWSVA has been configured to block, this
option can result in a large number of notification messages sent to the default recipient.
As an alternative to item-by-item notifications, know that blocked files are written
to a log and can be included in one of the IWSVA generated reports.
 |
Note
To create a notification message that spans more than one line, type "\n" to force
the text to the next line. Although the configured notification text still displays
in a single-line in the IWSVA Web console. the notification message is displayed in
multiple lines in email.

User Notifications
Whenever users try to download a file type that IWSVA has been configured to block,
they will see an HTML page explaining that their request has been rejected (if the
option is enabled).
-
You can design your own notification page using any HTML editor; then, Import the page to IWSVA (for example, if you want to display company brandings, or provide
a link to additional resources).
-
You can append a custom message to the IWSVA default by selecting both the Default and Customized options.
