The Rules screen appears with five
tabs, one for each type of threat.
Click the SMTP Traffic Throttling tab.
The SMTP Traffic Throttling screen appears.
Optional: Select the IP-based throttling check box and
configure the following:
Duration to monitor: The length of time
that IMSVA monitors email traffic
to see if the number of messages from a single IP address exceeds the
maximum you set.
Maximum connections: The maximum number of connections
allowed for a single IP address.
Maximum messages: The maximum number of email messages that
can be sent from a single IP address.
Triggering action: Block temporarily
is the only action that will be triggered.
Block temporarily: Block messages from the IP
address temporarily and allow the upstream MTA to try again after the
block duration ends.
Block duration: The length of time that IMSVA will block messages from the
IP address.
Optional: Select the Sender-based throttling check box
and configure the following:
Duration to monitor: The amount of time that IMSVA monitors email traffic to see
if the number of messages from a single sender exceeds the maximum you
set.
Maximum messages: The maximum number of email messages that
can be sent from a single sender.
Triggering action: Block temporarily
is the only action that will be triggered.
Block temporarily: Block messages from the sender
temporarily and allow the upstream MTA to try again after the block
duration ends.
Block duration: The length of time that IMSVA will block messages from the
sender.
