Multiple ScanMail servers can share the same configurations by using Trend Micro Apex Central (or Trend Micro Control Manager (TMCM)).

Apex Central permits administrators to configure and deploy Data Loss Prevention policies (rules) directly to ScanMail servers from the Apex Central web console.

Administrators can also use Apex Central to synchronize virus pattern file and other downloads (Apex Central contacts Trend Micro through the Internet; Apex Central then distributes the updates to the various instances of ScanMail through the Intranet).

Unless included as part of an Apex Central domain, each instance of ScanMail on the network updates its own virus pattern file and other updates.
